Why your PNG looks black — and how this fixes it

The "black PNG" problem

Apps that don't support transparency (WhatsApp previews, JPG converters, some email clients) render transparent areas as black. Adding a white background before saving fixes this permanently.

Preparing PNG for JPG

JPG format has no alpha channel — it can't store transparency. Converting a PNG directly to JPG without flattening first will always produce black blotches. Always flatten first.
