What does each control do?

Gamma vs Exposure

Gamma applies a non-linear power curve โ€” it lifts midtones without blowing highlights. Exposure is a linear multiplier, like adjusting the camera's EV stop. Use gamma for natural-looking corrections.

Highlights & Shadows

These target only the brightest and darkest zones of the image. Pull Highlights down to recover overexposed skies. Push Shadows up to reveal details hidden in dark areas.

Whites & Blacks

Whites clips the very top of the tonal range โ€” essentially sets the white point. Blacks crushes or lifts the floor. Together they control overall dynamic range and punch.

White Balance

Temperature shifts the image warm (orange) or cool (blue) โ€” useful when the camera's WB was wrong. Tint corrects green/magenta cast from mixed lighting like fluorescent bulbs.

Vibrance vs Saturation

Vibrance intelligently boosts muted colours while protecting already-saturated ones and skin tones. Saturation boosts everything equally โ€” use it carefully to avoid cartoon-like results.
