What this tool cannot do — read before converting
Max 20 files per session, 20 MB per file. Files that exceed this are rejected upfront with a clear message.
Burst photos & Live Photos: only the first still frame is extracted. The video clip inside a Live Photo is not converted or included.
HDR and wide-colour (Display P3) images are tone-mapped to standard sRGB. Some colour richness and highlight detail may be lost in the output.
Works best in Chrome 80+ and Edge 80+. Firefox may fail on some HEIC variants. On macOS, Apple's own Preview app is a zero-friction alternative.
Quality slider has no effect on PNG output — PNG is always lossless. The slider is disabled when PNG is selected.
An internet connection is required on first load to fetch the conversion library from a CDN. After that, if your browser has cached the page, it may work offline.

Why HEIC is a pain — and how this helps

What is HEIC?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format since iOS 11. It's ~50% smaller than JPG at equal quality — great for storage, terrible for sharing with non-Apple users.

Why can't Windows open HEIC?

Windows and most web platforms don't support HEIC natively. Converting to JPG fixes compatibility with every device, browser, email client, and editing app instantly.

Batch convert up to 20

Drop an entire selection from your camera roll at once. Each file converts independently — if one fails, the rest keep going. Download individually or grab all as a ZIP.

100% private

Conversion runs entirely in your browser using heic2any.js. Your photos are never uploaded to any server. Once the library is cached, the tool even works offline.
