What you need to know
Why WebP?
WebP is now the web's default image format โ Chrome, Safari, and all modern browsers serve it natively. It's 25โ35% smaller than equivalent JPGs while keeping the same visual quality.
What quality setting should I use?
For photos on web pages: 75โ85 is the sweet spot โ near-invisible quality loss, big file savings. For pixel-perfect assets like logos, use 90+ or switch to PNG mode.
Does it accept JPG and PNG too?
Yes. Drop any JPG or PNG and it will be compressed and exported as WebP (or your chosen format). Great for converting entire batches one at a time.
Completely private
All processing uses the browser's Canvas API. Nothing is uploaded to any server. Works fully offline after the page loads.
