Shift Pay Calculator

Enter your shift, rates & breaks — get your exact pay breakdown.

⚠ What this calculator does — and doesn't do
  • Handles shifts that cross midnight (e.g. 22:00 → 06:00).
  • Splits paid hours between day and night rates based on your night window.
  • Handles one unpaid break per shift, deducted evenly from day and night hours.
  • Applies different rates for weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
  • Supports overtime as a flat hourly rate after a paid-hours threshold — within this one shift only.
  • Weekly mode totals seven independent shifts. Each day is calculated in isolation.
  • Tax is not calculated. Removed because a flat-rate percentage gives false precision and varies greatly by country, income bracket, and allowances. Use your payslip or a dedicated tax tool.
  • Split shifts (two separate time blocks in one day) are not supported — one continuous start → end per day only.
  • Weekly overtime accumulation across multiple days is not calculated. OT applies per shift, not across the week.
  • Night rate is not forced to be above the day rate. You set whatever rate applies. We warn you if they conflict, but we won't override your input.
  • Currency conversion is not performed. All inputs are in the same currency you select.

Only the rate matching your selected Day Type above is used for day-rate hours. You can leave the others at any value.

Night Rate — shift spans a night window with a different rate
$
Night window can wrap midnight (e.g. 22:00 → 06:00). The night rate applies to any paid minutes within that window. If your night rate is different on weekends, enter the combined rate here.
Overtime — flat hourly rate after a paid-hours threshold
$
OT hours are the paid hours at the end of the shift beyond your threshold. The OT rate is a flat hourly amount — set it to 1.5× or 2× your base manually. OT is this shift only; weekly OT accumulation is not calculated.
